Give them a portrait of their animal, painted with a palette knife

Whether it is the family dog, their horse or the cat asleep on the sofa, Camille paints it from two or three photos. Allow four to six weeks of work and drying, plus delivery, so write early and give the date you have in mind. Camille replies within 24 hours and tells you whether she can meet it.

Why this animal

I paint the animal because it is beside nature that I finally feel in my place, in a world that can be too brutal. The knife carries the power of the predator that hunts to feed, the only strength that never wounds me. By welcoming the piece into your home, you welcome a totem, not an object.

The artist

Totem Sauvage is the image of my soul: passionate, colourful, raw and alive.

I am self-taught. I first tried every painting technique I could, sought to reproduce photographs exactly, for hours on end. I spent years honing my craft, flitting from one style to another without ever really finding my place.
