Why this animal

The woodpecker strikes, waits, begins again: perseverance is its language. Le Marquis gives it the top hat and the carriage of one who knows that things come to those who do not let go. Camille painted him for those who move forward one stroke at a time.

Le Marquis is a woodpecker with black and white plumage and a red nape, wearing a burgundy top hat, a rust and burgundy frock coat and a cream bow tie. He stands among ferns, on a peacock blue and teal ground.

It is a portrait painted by hand on an oval panel, set with golden ornaments in relief: a pediment at the top, two side appliqués, a rosette at the bottom. It measures 21 x 28 cm, roughly the size of an A4 sheet. The woodpecker is the totem of perseverance. A one of a kind piece signed Camille, with certificate of authenticity.
