Totem Sauvage is the image of my soul: passionate, colourful, raw and alive.
I am self-taught. I first tried every painting technique I could, sought to reproduce photographs exactly, for hours on end. I spent years honing my craft, flitting from one style to another without ever really finding my place.
Of an extreme sensitivity, I have always had nature and animals as the dominant thread of my existence. That is where the most beautiful, the most sacred, the most marvellous lives, and that is where I finally feel in my place, in a society sometimes too brutal for a being like me. The only violence that does not wound me is that of the predator hunting to feed its young or itself: there, I see power as a necessity.
Totem Sauvage is the culmination of everything that composes me. The day I understood that the raw essence of animality, raised in vivid, contrasting colours, in the image of life itself, was my artistic entity, I found my place by finding my style. Subjects that move me, a technique that resembles me.
Camille Marchand, known as Camille, a self-taught animal painter based in Riorges, in the Loire (France), exhibits her works exclusively on Totem Sauvage. Each piece is accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity.

Frequent questions
What technique do you use?
All works are executed in acrylic with a palette knife on Isorel, a rigid fibreboard panel cut to the animal's silhouette. Isorel is the support of choice for impasto: chosen in their time by masters such as Pollock, Miró and Frida Kahlo, it does not flex under the material and preserves the relief intact over time. No brush: only the painting knife to create thick and vibrant textures.
Are the works unique pieces?
Yes, each work is unique. No reproduction exists, no limited edition. What you purchase is the original, accompanied by its certificate of authenticity.
Do you offer custom commissions?
Yes, personalised commissions are possible. Contact us to discuss your project: animal, dimensions, colour palette.
How much does an original work cost?
Original works available in the gallery range from 580 to 1290 euros depending on format and collection. Each piece is unique, signed and accompanied by its certificate of authenticity; online reservation is made with a 30% deposit. Bespoke commissions start at 490 euros.
How long to create a work?
Between four and six weeks depending on the size of the panel, the thickness of material and drying. Each piece requires significant drying time due to the generous impastos.
What about delivery?
Free delivery in metropolitan France, professional packaging with rigid cardboard and corner protection. International delivery on request.
