Why this animal
The nocturnal lion is sovereignty keeping watch in the shadow: power held in, gathered, that needs no roar to be felt. Le Nocturne settles that restrained presence in your home, a strength that guards the room without ever stirring. Camille painted it for the one whose calm is already an authority.
Le Nocturne is the dark counterpart of Le Solaire: a crouched lion, ready to spring, whose coat and mane sink into deep blacks and anthracite, crossed by accents of copper, red and violet. Only the golden eyes pierce the darkness.
Like every piece in this series, it is an Isorel panel cut to the exact silhouette of the animal, a wall relief that stands out from the wall by a few centimetres. The knife works the material in tight impastos: over the darkest areas, raking light reveals the relief that the flat tone conceals.
The lion carries the totem of sovereignty and courage. In its nocturnal version, it becomes a contained presence, a power that keeps watch. A unique piece, hand-painted and signed by Camille, delivered with its certificate of authenticity.
