Why this animal
The roaring gorilla is the totem of refusal: strength that will not be subdued, the moment when power stops being silent. L'Indomptable brings that frontal energy into your home, streaked with colours seeking their way out. Camille painted it for the one who does not bend when everything demands it.
L'Indomptable stands facing you, fists clenched, mouth open in a roar that bares the fangs. Its black mass is streaked with flashes of colour: electric blue, green, red and yellow run through the fur like an energy seeking its way out, down to the golden fists clenched beneath the shoulders.
It is a large-format Isorel panel, cut to the exact silhouette of the primate, a wall relief several centimetres thick. The knife impastos load the material to saturation: under raking light, every streak of colour becomes a sharp ridge.
