Why this animal

The eagle is the totem of vision: the gaze that rises high, that sees things coming before others do, that keeps watch. Le Veilleur settles that aerial presence in your home, the one that reminds you to lift your eyes and aim far. Camille painted it for the one who holds the course while others look at their feet.

Le Veilleur is an eagle caught at the instant of swooping, wings widely spread, talons forward. The cream-white head stands out against a body of deep blacks crossed by accents of red, emerald green and gold: every feather is a stroke of the knife.

It is a large Isorel panel cut to the exact silhouette of the bird in full flight, a wall relief that seems to detach from the wall to advance into the room. The wingspan and the cut-out make it an aerial presence, impossible to reproduce in print: the knife-laid material only lives under real light.

The eagle opens Les Sentinelles, the totem of vigilance and vision: the gaze that dominates, that sees far, that keeps watch. A unique piece, hand-painted and signed by Camille, delivered with its certificate of authenticity.
